Zendaya may be this month’s cover star of Modeliste, but she’s not afraid to call out the magazine. Just hours after her stunning cover was revealed, the Disney Channel star took to Instagram to slam the outlet for heavily photoshopping her 19-year-old frame.

Posting a side-by-side of the photoshopped image and the unretouched picture, Zendaya noted she was “shocked” to find her “hips and torso quite manipulated.” She then went on to explain that it was important for her to speak out against this kind of extreme manipulation because it’s exactly why many women and girls have body image issues.

After Zendaya’s reached out to the magazine, Modeliste quickly remedied the issue and replaced the heavily photoshopped images. She then wrote, “Had a new shoot come out today and was shocked when I found my 19 year old hips and torso quite manipulated. These are the things that make women self conscious, that create the unrealistic ideals of beauty that we have.”

Zendaya added, “Anyone who knows who I am knows I stand for honest and pure self love. So I took it upon myself to release the real pic (right side) and I love it. Thank you @modelistemagazine for pulling down the images and fixing this retouch issue.”
