Zayn Malik is not "worried" Harry Styles will "steal his thunder" with his new solo music, despite a sensational claim. Gossip Cop can bust the story, which pits the former bandmates against each other as rivals.
According to the fabrication factory known as HollywoodLife, "There's one person who isn't thrilled that Harry Styles has solo music coming soon, and that's Zayn Malik! Zayn is scared that Harry's success could 'overshadow' what he's worked so hard to achieve post-1D." The webloid quotes a so-called "source" as saying, "Zayn has been flying high on his success as a solo artist, but he's stressing out big time now that Harry's coming out with a new album. He's worried that Harry is going to steal his thunder and overshadow what he's worked so hard for."
The site's supposed snitch continues, "Out of all the 1D guys, Harry is the one Zayn has always felt the most competitive with, and with good reason. He's been hearing from music insiders that Harry's new work is the bomb, it's edgy, it's different and it's going to dominate the charts."
The best line in the piece, though, is probably this: "Harry's debut single sounds incredible, even if we haven't heard a peep yet." Um, what? HollywoodLies hasn't "heard" the song, but it "sounds incredible"? The bad blog has always had a problem with logic, but we digress.
The real issue here is the webloid pushing a Malik-Styles feud, and they've been doing so for quite some time. Nearly a year ago, Gossip Cop busted the disreputable outlet for falsely claiming Malik wanted to have a "showdown" with Styles. That never happened, just as we rightly said it wouldn't.
But now HollywoodLies is back to, well, spreading lies. Malik and Styles may not be the best of friends, but they're not in competition with one another, either. Each is confident in his own work and his own sound, and genuinely wants the other to have success and happiness. They share a common past, but their solo futures really have nothing to do with each other.
Simply put, Styles isn't a threat to Malik or vice versa. The webloid, which has proven to have terrible sources on both stars in the past, rather fabricate tall tales to stir up their overlapping fan bases than present the truth.
Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
