Yoli Mayor sang “Human” for her live performance during the “America’s Got Talent” quarterfinals on Tuesday. Watch the video below!

As Gossip Cop reported, singer Mayor’s audition was featured on the season 12 premiere of “America’s Got Talent” back in late May. She initially began performing “I Put A Spell On You,” and seemed doomed when Simon Cowell interrupted and stopped the performance. The music mogul explained that song choice just wasn’t “working” for him, and felt too “old-fashioned.” After an impromptu makeover from host Tyra Banks, Mayor then sang Ed Sheeran’s “Make It Rain,” and received a standing ovation from not just Cowell, but all of the judges.

That success continued during the second round of the NBC talent competition, known as Judge Cuts. Mayor performed “Love On The Brain” by Rihanna, and received another standing ovation from the entire panel. But tonight was the true test. It was the first time the aspiring star had to sing live, and the first time viewers would be voting to determine her fate. Before belting out “Human,” Mayor shared glimpses of her home life in “Little Havana” with her Cuban family. “I couldn’t be prouder than to see my little girl following her dreams,” Mayor’s dad said. She added, “Being on ‘America’s Got Talent’ has given me such confidence. It means the world to be here.”

Following her moody performance, Cowell and Heidi Klum gave a standing ovation. Mel B spoke first, though, saying that while she “absolutely adore[s]” Mayor, tonight “there was something off.” “I didn’t see you,” she complained, adding, “Something was missing… I’m a bit sad.” But Klum stated, “I’m not sad at all. I love you, and I thought you were fantastic… You’re not only human, you’re a superhuman, and I think you have one of the best voices this season.”

Despite his ovation, Cowell’s feedback was both good and bad. “I think you’ve got an amazing voice. I don’t think you know how good you are,” he told Mayor. But the music mogul suggested the performance was “overproduced,” and “lost that rawness that we love about you.” He added, “I know where you can go next. Talent like this cannot be thrown away.” And Howie Mandel simply said, “We know you’re talented. You deserve to be here. It’s up to America. You gotta vote.” Check out the video below.
