Yoli Mayor Americas Got Taleent Audition

Yoli Mayor earned a standing ovation on the season 12 premiere of “America’s Got Talent” on Tuesday, after getting a second chance following a rocky start to her audition. Watch the video below!

The 21-year-old explained before taking the stage that she’s always seen herself as the “fat friend,” and contemplated giving up music because of it. She realized, however, a “life without singing would be absolutely devastating.” Right before Mayor started “I Put A Spell On You,” Heidi Klum whispered, “She’s gonna be amazing, I have a feeling.”

But after a few bars, Simon Cowell stopped the audition. “This isn’t working, for me. Because this is feeling very old-fashioned,” he complained. “I want this to persuade us you are a great recording artist.” He asked for a second song, and new “AGT” host Tyra Bans ran out to give Mayor an impromptu makeover to make her look more her age. The aspiring star then sang Ed Sheeran’s “Make It Rain,” and received a standing ovation from all four judges.

As Mayor cried, Cowell told her, “I apologize for what you went through here, but I’m glad we did it. I just got the weirdest feeling here, Yoli, that we may have just found a solid gold star. You have something special about you, more than your voice. It’s you.”

“I absolutely adore you,” Klum told the contestant. “You will go far in this competition. There’s no doubt in my mind.” Mel B declared, “All I can say, this is your time. This is your time, young lady. Done!” And regardless of what happens from here, Howie Mandel said, “You have won. You just won.” Check out the full video below!
