Will Smith’s personal and professional life is often the subject of phony tabloid stories. Gossip Cop has debunked several rumors about the movie star as of late. Here is what’s fact and what’s fiction.

Back in March, Gossip Cop busted OK! for falsely claiming Smith was worried about the live-action Aladdin remake ruining his career. The story emerged after some people on social media slammed the teaser trailer for the film and expressed dissatisfaction with how Smith looked as the iconic blue genie. The story was fairly flawed, as the initial backlash actually subsided once the full trailer for the movie was released and fans warmed up to Smith’s portrayal of the character.

At the time, People magazine even published an article noting that Aladdin fans had “changed their minds” about how the actor looks in the Disney remake. Regardless, Smith made it clear in an Instagram post that he was “hyped” about the remake and excited for fans to see it. The movie went on to put up big numbers at the box office when it was released last weekend.

Last August, Gossip Cop called out the Globe for wrongly reporting that Smith has been in a secret feud with George Clooney for several years. The outlet contended that the Men in Black star was jealous of the fellow actor and had been “trash-talking” him around Hollywood. A supposed source told the tabloid that Clooney somehow caught wind of the actor’s insults and wasn’t happy about being slammed by one of his peers in the industry. Despite what the outlet’s anonymous “insider” claimed, Clooney’s own spokesperson told us the story was completely untrue. There’s never been bad blood between the two movie stars. In fact, the two have crossed paths several times over the years and have even goofed around at red carpet events together.

Last June, Gossip Cop debunked a National Enquirer article alleging Smith was having a “marriage crisis” with wife Jada Pinkett over racy photos he took with Margot Robbie on the set of their 2015 movie Focus. The images in question, which had made the rounds several years prior, featured the co-stars lifting up their shirts in a photo booth on the set of the film.

At the time the pictures first hit, People magazine noted that Smith and Robbie “were just being silly” and his wife “knows it was nothing.” For some bizarre reason, the Enquirer decided to rehash the non-controversy several years later. Around the same time the story emerged, Pinkett said in a SiriusXM interview that she and Smith will “never” get divorced. Pinkett also had very nice things to say about Robbie back when Focus released in 2015, even joking that she enjoyed watching the actress’s love scenes with her husband.

And finally, Gossip Cop busted RadarOnline last year for making up a story about Smith and Pinkett getting a “$270 million divorce.” The unreliable blog claimed the spouses of more than two decades had been “living separate lives” and were finally ready to end their marriage for good. The website even alleged that both stars had been “getting a taste of the single life” and “enjoying it.” The same week the bogus article was published, Smith shared an Instagram video of him and his wife paddle boating around a California lake. And as noted above, the actress would go on to say that she and Smith will “never” get a divorce.
