Moviegoers are going ape. After Spider-Man: Homecoming caught fans in its web a week ago, the box office this weekend was all about War For The Planet Of The Apes. Get the details, and check out the Top 10 for this weekend’s movies below!

War For The Planet Of The Apes is the third and final film in the rebooted Planet Of The Apes franchise. Andy Serkis has once again pulled off an incredible motion-capture performance to bring ape Caesar to life opposite a new foe played by Woody Harrelson. And despite controversy after well-known Black Lives Matter activist DeRay McKesson suggested the new Apes film was racist, it is attracting the most theatergoers this weekend. The film opened with $56.5 million in ticket sales for a first-place win.

While that’s a lot less than the debut box office gross for Spider-Man: Homecoming last week, it was more than enough to steal the top spot from the web slinger. With around $45.2 millon in ticket sales, Spider-Man slipped down to second place. Despicable Me 3, which also ranked first in its opening weekend, fell to the third spot with receipts of $19 million. The music-fueled Baby Driver secured the fourth position with $8.75 million. And landing in fifth place was The Big Sick, thanks to its take of $7.4 million.

Rounding out the Top 10 were Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot in the title role. It earned $6.9 million to nab sixth. Meanwhile, the new horror film Wish Upon came in the number seven spot with $5.6 million. Speeding into the eighth position was Cars 3 with $3.2 million, while Transformers: The Last Knight took ninth with $2.8 million. Rounding out this week’s Top 10 in the last spot was The House. The movie earned $1.8 million.
