VMAs Live Stream 2017

The 2017 VMAs take place at The Forum in Los Angeles on Sunday. Check out the MTV Video Music Awards live stream below!

The MTV VMAs were started in 1984 as a music video-focused alternative to the Grammys. By rewarding music videos, the show sets itself apart from other music-themed awards shows beyond the Grammys, such as the Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards and iHeartRadio Music Awards. Over the years, the annual event has become a cultural touchstone, with iconic moments that were seared into pop culture history long before the days of memes and gifs.

What will go viral this year remains to be seen, but the bill is filled with some of the music industry’s biggest stars. Katy Perry, who has been nominated for the VMAs nearly 30 times over the course of her career, will oversee the big night as the ceremony’s host. She’s also slated to perform, along with fellow pop stars Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato. Further contributing to the girl power vibe will be Fifth Harmony, Alessia Cara, Lorde and Julia Michaels. In addition, Pink, who is this year’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award recipient, will give what is sure to be a must-watch performance. And Taylor Swift’s new music video for “Look What You Made Me Do” will have its world premiere during the broadcast.

Of course, many top male artists will take the stage, too. While Kendrick Lamar is set to open the show, Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, 30 Seconds To Mars, Post Malone and Kyle will all have performances as well. Fans can also look forward to seeing DNCE and Logic. And since all the performers need to be introduced and the awards need to be announced, a number of music stars have signed on as presenters. The list ranges from DJ Khaled and The Chainsmokers to Kesha and Remy Ma.

The ceremony, which will air on a number of Viacom networks in addition to MTV, is slated to begin at 8 p.m. Eastern, immediately after a red carpet pre-show featuring performances from Jack Antonoff, Khalid and Cardi B. Gossip Cop will have coverage all night. NOTE: The live stream is no longer available.
