One of this week's tabloids claims Victoria Beckham got flirty with Matthew McConaughey backstage at "Good Morning America" amid alleged marriage problems with her husband, David Beckham. The story is completely untrue. Gossip Cop can debunk it.
Last month, the fashion designer and the actor both appeared on the ABC talk show, where she promoted her new Reebok collection and he discussed his new movie Serenity. According to Star, Victoria swooned over McConaughey when the cameras were off. "Victoria was like a giggly school girl," a supposed source tells the magazine. "He was very receptive to her flirting too. There's no doubt Matthew was enjoying her advances - she showered him with attention." The outlet's alleged insider further contends that the former Spice Girl's marriage is hanging by a thread and she's tired of David "hanging out with women at events," so she decided to exact revenge by flirting with McConaughey.
Here's what the magazine doesn't mention. Victoria called David her "soulmate" during her "GMA" appearance while discussing their upcoming 20th wedding anniversary. She added, "I'm really lucky... He's a great husband, a fantastic dad. He's just the best dad, he really is." Just one day prior to her talk show appearance, Victoria's husband accompanied her to the launch of her Reebok collaboration.
It's clear the spouses of nearly 20 years aren't having marriage problems, but Gossip Cop also checked in with a source close to McConaughey to get to the bottom of the flirting rumors. A mutual pal of ours and the actor calls the claim "nonsense" and notes that the actor's wife, Camila Alves, was with him backstage at "GMA." The happily married actor wasn't "very receptive" to Victoria's nonexistent "advances."
It's worth noting, this isn't the first time Star has attempted to create a love triangle between the Beckhams and another celebrity. Last month, Gossip Cop busted the magazine for falsely claiming Angelina Jolie was trying to steal David from his wife. Meanwhile, the unreliable outlet alleged last June that Victoria was divorcing David over a rumor he got their daughter's teacher pregnant. Nothing about that report was remotely true.
As for McConaughey, the tabloid is no stranger to creating imaginary marital issues for the actor as well. Back in 2015, Gossip Cop called out the publication for claiming McConaughey and Alves were "fighting nonstop" and headed for a split. The happy couple is still going strong. In reality, two big stars appeared on a talk show on the same time day, and Star decided to turn the situation into a fictional soap opera.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
