Are Victoria Beckham and David Beckham renewing their vows in a star-studded ceremony ahead of their 20th anniversary in July? That's the claim in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we've learned the truth.
According to OK!, the spouses are tired of being at the center of divorce and cheating rumors, so they want to get hitched again. "They swear they're doing this for themselves and not for show," a supposed source tells the magazine. "Even though they've experienced some lows recently, they're both confident they've turned a corner and are ready to start fresh. What better way to do that than to walk down the aisle again?"
The outlet further contends that the guest list for the ceremony will be full of A-listers. "Posh wants a lot of her showbiz friends to come, including all of her Spice Girls bandmates and the Clooneys, as well as a bunch of David's sports pals," says the alleged insider, who goes on to say that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will also be invited. "David and Victoria are still a work in progress, like any couple," adds the suspicious tipster, "but they're determined to stay together — and exchanging new vows will be a great way to start their next chapter."
The unreliable magazine doesn't bother to mention exactly where and when the couple's supposed vow renewal ceremony is going to take place. That's because no such celebration is in the works. Gossip Cop reached out to Victoria's spokesperson, who tells us on the record that the magazine's article is fabricated. Despite what the outlet's anonymous and untraceable "insider" claims, a rep qualified to speak on the designer's behalf tells us she and her husband aren't renewing their vows.
It's also quite ironic for OK! to say the spouses are sick of split rumors. Just a few months ago, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for publishing a cover story alleging the Beckhams were getting a $1.2 billion divorce. Back in January 2018, the outlet also contended that David and Victoria were headed for a divorce.
Gossip Cop also called out the publication in September 2017 for wrongly reporting the Beckhams were splitting. Those previously mentioned articles are just a few examples of the bogus divorce rumors that the magazine has peddled over the past few years. The happy spouses are still very much together, and they're not renewing their vows to prove otherwise.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
