David Beckham and Victoria Beckham's marriage is the stuff of legends — two icons of different pop culture worlds uniting in a superstar marriage that's lasted over two decades. As their marriage goes on, however, so do the lazy tabloid rumors about the status of their relationship. Unsurprisingly, a fair amount of these rumors revolve around the idea that Victoria is full of jealousy any time her husband is seen near another woman. Here are a few of those stories Gossip Cop has busted.
In June 2018, Heat falsely claimed Victoria was green was envy after her husband was spotted jogging with her personal trainer. The magazine cited a few social media comments from curious fans as reason to speculate about the state of the Beckhams' marriage. This speculation included lines about how young and attractive the trainer was and murmurs about how she "stole" David from Victoria.
Victoria's spokesperson told us on the record that the rumor was "rubbish." The simple reality of a spouse working with their significant other's trainer isn't all that interesting, but it was the only truth. The only theft was the outlet stealing its readers' time.
Gossip Cop also called out Star this January after the publication incorrectly reported that Victoria was desperately trying to keep Angelina Jolie away from David out of fear she'd steal him away. Even though the tabloid alleged that the two were living "separate lives," it stated that Victoria was begging David to not work with Jolie on any philanthropic endeavors, despite the actress's requests.
Shortly before the article was published, the couple celebrated New Year's Eve together and shared a romantic New Year's Kiss. Gossip Cop also reached out to one of our sources in Jolie's camp, who dismissed the rumor and clarified that Jolie was focusing on her kids, not dating. Additionally, Jolie was in the thick of her divorce and custody arrangements with ex-husband Brad Pitt, so there's no reason she'd immediately embroil herself in another marriage debacle.
Just a few weeks ago, New Idea came up with the ridiculous idea that Victoria was upset over a commercial that featured David getting married to another model. David had filmed a hotel ad with Chinese model Angela Yeung Wing a week before this article emerged, and posted an Instagram video of the two eating on set. According to the tabloid, the mere idea of David being involved in another wedding, no matter how imaginary, drove Victoria to post "a rare picture of herself in a yoga move" to show off her body and draw her husband's attention.
Unsurprisingly, Gossip Cop found the entire story was bogus. Victoria's yoga pictures aren't uncommon on her timeline, and she had posted another photo in the same gear doing a different pose earlier the month. Plus, David attended one of Victoria's fashion shows following his commercial shoot, and was seen walking hand-in-hand with Victoria after the show. The couple's marriage is as strong as ever, regardless of whatever narratives the tabloids attempt to add to their relationship.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
