Victoria Arlen and Val Chmerkovskiy got mixed reviews on Tuesday’s “Dancing With The Stars” for her rumba. The dancing pair’s performance to Sky Ferreira’s “Easy” earned them a mediocre score. Check out the video below of their routine on Latin Night.

From being paralyzed to having earned the top score on Monday’s “Dancing With The Stars,” Arlen’s story is nothing less extraordinary. As Gossip Cop has previously reported, a couple of rare conditions left the ESPN commentator in a vegetative state for four years and paralyzed for a decade. It’s nearly impossible to fathom that Arlen, who’s been a fierce competitor this season, was bound to a wheelchair a little more than a year ago. And now, she’s among a handful of contestants who are considered frontrunners.

Following cha cha during this season’s premiere, Carrie Ann Inaba expressed, “I’ve seen some incredible routines on this show…That was one of the joyous performances I think I’ve ever seen.” She continued to compliment Arlen by saying, “Your leg action was so crisp and clean.” What’s truly amazing about that is, though Arlen can once again move, she had no feeling whatsoever in her legs.

On Monday’s Ballroom Night, Arlen was nothing less than incredible. She electrified the studio with her tango to Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do.” Bruno Tonioli praised her for how “well executed” her routine was. He added, “You looked like a leading lady all the way through.” Inaba loved Arlen’s “technique,” and said, “I don’t know how you’re doing it,” to which she responded, “Me neither… It’s a miracle.” Meanwhile, Len Goodman exclaimed, “I thought that was a super duper dance.” For Arlen’s tango on “Dancing With The Stars,” she and Chmerkovskiy earned 24 out of 30 points and a position on the top of the leaderboard.

On Tuesday’s Latin Night, however, Arlen got mixed reviews. Goodman didn’t love the dance. Inaba only said, “When you dance, I feel I get to know you.” And Tonioli shared, “It was a very, very nice.” As a result, the judges awarded her with just 20 out of 30 points.
