Madison Keys and Sloane Stephens will compete in the Women’s Final at the U.S. Open on Saturday. Watch the live stream below!

This year’s Women’s Singles competition began in late August at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, New York. And right off the bat, there was a surprising twist. Angelique Kerber, the defending champion, lost in the very first round to Naomi Osaka. Though Kerber was only seeded sixth, she was not expected to exit the tournament this quickly. But in addition to the return of Maria Sharapova, fans were able to watch another favorite for quite a while: Venus Williams, who played as sister Serena Williams gave birth to her first child, made it to the semifinals after not getting out of the preliminary matches in 2016.

With Stephens versus Williams and Keys versus CoCo Vandeweghe, it was the first time there were four American semifinalists since 1981. And one person particularly excited for today’s final event is Serena Williams herself. She tweeted on Friday, “There are NO words to describe how proud and how happy I am for @Madison_Keys keys and @SloaneStephens for making the US open finals. These amazing women continue to change the game and bring excellence, power, finesse and change to tennis. What a joy it will be to watch this – hopefully first of many finals. Let’s go ladies!”

So, how did each player get to this point? Keys started out as the 15th seed, and triumphed as the Section 3 winner after the first four rounds. She conquered Kaia Kanepi of Estonia in the quarterfinals, before beating Vandeweghe in the semifinals. Meanwhile, Stephens was not seeded at the start of the competition. In fact, in August she was ranked 957th in the world. Now she defeated not only the Section 7 players, but also Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia in the quarterfinals and then Williams in the semifinals.

It remains to be seen if Stephens’ incredible run will conclude with a victory over Keys. The match is slated to start at 4 p.m. Eastern. NOTE: The live stream is no longer available.
