U2 sang “Get Out Of Your Own Way” on this week’s “SNL.” The single is the fourth track off their new album Songs Of Experience, which was released on Friday. Earlier, U2 performed “American Soul” on “Saturday Night Live.” See the video below of band’s performance of “Get Out Of Your Own Way.”

This marks the second time U2 has sung the song on TV. They first performed it during the MTV Europe Music Awards. On Friday, they also announced on Facebook that they would singing “Get Out Of Your Own Way” on a New York City street underneath the High Line, an elevated park and trail built where a railroad had previously been.

Half an hour later, U2 played an acoustic version of the song, with The Edge and Adam Clayton on guitar, Larry Mullen on the tambourine, and Bono providing the lead vocals. A nice-sized crowd formed under the High Line to hear the band rock out to “Get Out Of Your Own Way.” Right as the group was finishing up, they head into a city street, where cars stopped while they sang.

As noted earlier, this is the fourth time U2 has been on “SNL.” The band made its debut on the late-night program in 2000. They then returned to the legendary Studio 8H stage in Rockefeller Center in 2004 and again in 2009. During those last two stints on “Saturday Night Live,” U2 performed three songs, which is one more than musical guests generally do.

In the spring, U2 will hit the road for the North American leg of its Experience + Innocence Tour. The 15-concert tour kicks off on May 2 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and ends on June 29 in Newark, New Jersey. In between, the group will play large arenas in such cities as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Boston, to name a few.
