Perhaps the only thing more fake than the video of Bella Thorne purportedly masturbating in a car are the stories made up by HollywoodLife about her ex-boyfriends’ reactions to the manipulated clip. The often discredited site, which at first thought the video was real, now wants its readers to believe that magically it has sources who know what Tyler Posey and Gregg Sulkin think of the phony sex tape. Gossip Cop, however, can shoot down these fabricated claims.

Shortly after the bogus video began to trend on Twitter, HollywoodLies, as it’s more commonly referred to among real journalists, quickly put up two made-up articles in quick succession about Sulkin and Posey’s thoughts about the masturbation footage. One headline read, “Gregg Sulkin Impressed With Bella Thorne: She’s Handling Fake Sex Tape Scandal In True Form.” Of course it’s ironic with stories like this for that site to use the word “true.” Also posted was the equally fictitious article titled, “Tyler Posey Wants Bella Thorne To Know He’s ‘There For Her’ After Fake Sex Tape Scandal.”

As mentioned above, it should be noted that for several hours, HollywoodLies thought the Thorne masturbation video was real, and only updated its story after legitimate outlets like Gossip Cop pointed out that the footage was edited and fake. In fact, the webloid initially wrote of the graphic clip, “This is heartbreaking no matter what, since it’s seemingly a private video that wasn’t meant to see the light of day. Several A-list stars have fallen victim to hackers over the years, having their most intimate photos leaked online and exposed to the world.” To reiterate, the blog thought it was real, leaked sex tape because it didn’t fact-check, and then it asked its visitors to believe that it had sources telling it Thorne’s exes’ thoughts.

And, of course, because the site seemingly doesn’t have actual sources this time around, the highly suspicious quotes that were published offer no insight. For instance, in the Sulkin article, the webloid’s alleged “insider” is quoted as such non-revelatory things as “He feels bad that she is involved in these accusations and thinks it’s really crappy.” And in the absurd Posey piece, the blog’s supposed “source” offers that should the actor speak to Thorne in the near future, he’s “not ever going to be about the alleged sex tape.” A real person, as opposed to a made-up “source” (unless it’s her attorney) would not refer to the masturbation video as “the alleged sex tape.” More importantly, neither of the seemingly fabricated Posey and Sulkin sources provide any inside information.

Basically, HollywoodLife tends to traffic in fake news spawned from actual events. When something happens to a celebrity, the often disproven site isn’t the outlet that broke the news, and yet within minutes it has unique (and generally phony) angles about it. Just about a year ago, for example, when the former Disney star replied to a fan’s question that “yes” she was attracted to both men and women, HollywoodLies capitalized on her one-word response to make up a tale about how Thorne only revealed she’s bisexual because of Kristen Stewart. It had nothing to do with Stewart and was completely untrue, as are the latest round of stories about Thorne’s ex-boyfriends and their thoughts of the phony masturbation tape.
