Tristan Thompson did not tell Khloe Kardashian he needed “space” to focus on basketball, contrary to a number of inaccurate reports. Gossip Cop can not only bust this claim, but we can also explain how it originated.

According to Star, Thompson has decided to “pump the brakes” on his relationship with Kardashian. In punny language, the tabloid alleges he “asked for a time-out to try and kill the clock after she issued a full-court press… in the press.” At issue, supposedly, is Kardashian’s recent interview where she said she’d accept a proposal from the NBA star and hoped to have children with him.

The magazine maintains Thompson was caught off-guard by the remarks, and a so-called “insider” asserts the “drama was totally distracting him from his game.” Consequently, claims the outlet’s supposed source, Thompson “told her that he just needed some space.” The publication’s alleged tipster further contends Kardashian is now “kicking herself for coming on so strong,” and “hopes they can get back on track once the playoffs are over.”

But Kardashian and Thompson never got off track in the first place. That’s a false narrative that was started by MediaTakeOut, which last month ran a purported “exclusive” announcing, “Khloe Kardashian Got ‘DUMPED’ … Tristan Thompson Wants To ‘TAKE A BREAK’ … Until After The PLAYOFFS ARE OVER!!!” Lemmings like RadarOnline and HollywoodLife picked up the tale without bothering to fact-check, with the latter even publishing multiple fabrications about a supposed Kardashian-Thompson breakup.

The couple, however, is still together, as Gossip Cop already reported, and the reality star has indicated more than once on social media that she’s supporting the Cleveland Cavaliers player during the post-season. Star simply took an already debunked rumor circulating online and published it in its new issue. What’s more is that Gossip Cop also already busted the tabloid’s sister publication, OK!, for falsely claiming Thompson told Kardashian he wants to “slow down” their romance following her interview comments. In other words, Star‘s story is late and wrong on two counts. The magazine combined two pieces of fake news for one untrue article. That is far from journalism.
