A certain website is claiming to know Travis Scott was “moved” seeing his mom hold Stormi, his daughter with Kylie Jenner, “for the first time” this weekend. But a careful examination of this reaction story proves it was made-up. Gossip Cop can bust the bogus “exclusive” and show you how it was provably fabricated.
In the wake of Scott and Jenner traveling to Texas for a party with his family, HollywoodLife purports to have “exclusive details” on how the trip was a milestone for the new dad, since some of his relatives were meeting Stormi for the first time. A so-called “insider” is quoted as saying, “Seeing Stormi with his family was incredibly moving for Travis, especially watching his mom holding her granddaughter for the first time.” It’s the second part of that sentence that shows the site is not only clueless, but also that this article is a fabrication.
Though Stormi was born more than two months ago, the blog apparently thinks Scott’s mother only met the infant “for the first time” during the gathering held this past weekend in Texas. That just isn’t true. The rapper’s mom has been a presence in Stormi’s life since before she was even born. In the pregnancy video Jenner shared on YouTube to announce her daughter’s birth, Scott’s mom was seen at the doctor’s office with the expectant reality star during an ultrasound appointment. The matriarch is even seen wiping away tears as Kris Jenner tells her, “There’s your grandbaby.”
Given that there’s video documentation that Scott’s mom was involved in the pregnancy, it’s a bit far-fetched to contend she then went more than eight weeks without meeting her granddaughter after her February 1 birth. In actuality, Gossip Cop has learned that the music star’s mother not only met Stormi around the time she was born, but that she has also spent time with her since then in Los Angeles, long before the couple traveled to Texas this past weekend. The trip wasn’t to introduce Stormi to her grandmother, but for other relatives to meet the little one.
In fact, People reported about Scott bringing his daughter to Texas, “[His] close family have spent a lot of time in L.A. with Stormi since she was born, [but he] has extended family in Texas that he wanted to celebrate Stormi with.” Why then is HollywoodLies, as the website is nicknamed, now quoting an “insider” about Scott supposedly “watching his mom holding her granddaughter for the first time” when such a moment actually happened two months ago and not during this recent trip? Well, there’s only two explanations.
Either the outlet was duped by its “insider,” who fed them lies, or the online publication wholly manufactured the quotes on its own. In either case, the bottom line is the same: These “exclusive details” were made-up and are wrong. Of course, that’s hardly a surprise given that the site has repeatedly demonstrated that it doesn’t really have true inside knowledge about Scott and Jenner.
For example, exactly a month ago, Gossip Cop busted HollywoodLies for concocting a story about Jenner turning down a marriage proposal from Scott, after previously contradictorily claiming she wanted to marry him. Notably, time has shown our debunking was correct as People just confirmed in a new report published on Sunday that while Jenner and Scott are “closer” these days, there “hasn’t been” any discussion of the couple getting engaged. That just further shows how off-base the blog’s claims are, and is more evidence that indicates the website wouldn’t have genuine insight about the Texas trip with Scott’s family.
Basically, HollywoodLies pretends to be in-the-know, but as Gossip Cop has broken down here, its stories often prove that isn’t the case. Additionally, we’re told on background by a Jenner confidante that this tale about her trip with Scott and his mom is “fake.” Gossip Cop also reached out to reps for Jenner and Scott for comment on the outlet’s fictional narrative on the record.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
