Is Tori Spelling desperately trying to become friends with Kim Kardashian, only to be met by silence? That's the story a gossip blog is pushing. Gossip Cop has learned it's totally false.
According to RadarOnline, Spelling has been eager to befriend Kardashian since recently moving into the same gated community in Los Angeles where the reality star lives. An alleged insider tells the outlet that Spelling is asking neighbors and friends to put in a good word for her so she can join "Kim's moms' club and get together for BBQs and playdates on the weekend" with the entire Kardashian family.
The website goes on to say that Kardashian has totally stonewalled Spelling and refuses to return her phone calls. The supposed source further contends that the reality star is put off by Spelling, who she believes is "the world's biggest loser and incredibly tacky" due to her financial troubles and other "baggage."
The blog's article is based on claims from an unknown tipster, but Gossip Cop reached out to Spelling's spokesperson, who assures us it's "completely false." The actress's rep, who's qualified to speak on her behalf, adds, "Tori has known Kim and her family since they were teens. They grew up together and the families have always been friendly."
Spelling and Kardashian's relationship does in fact go way back. Both grew up in Los Angeles in celebrity circles at the same time. Back in 2009, Kardashian even supported Spelling at the launch party for her second book, Mommywood.
Just last week, Kardashian told Entertainment Tonight that she'd love to make an appearance on the Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot. This was in response to Spelling and Jennie Garth having previously said they wanted her on the show. "I'm there, just because 90210, to me, was my childhood," Kardashian gushed. "I used to beg my dad for this 90210 sweatshirt. I wish I still had it." Those aren't quite the words of someone so appalled by their new neighbor that they're ghosting them entirely.
It's not surprising that RadarOnline is so off-base about Spelling. Multiple sister publications of the site have been just as wrong about the BH90210 star. Just a few weeks ago, Gossip Cop busted the National Enquirer for falsely claiming Spelling wasn't invited to join The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills because she's "too poor."
Shortly after that, Gossip Cop called out OK! for publishing a ridiculous piece about Spelling developing feelings for co-star Brian Austin Green. These bogus stories about the actress seem to have been written to capitalize on the popularity of the 90210 reboot. This latest one involving Kardashian is no different.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
