Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are NOT having a fifth baby in an effort to convince her mom, Candy Spelling, to give them a piece of the family’s fortune, despite a ridiculous tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”

Spelling and McDermott recently announced they’re expecting their fifth child, but according to Star, the pregnancy is a money-making scheme. A so-called “source” claims Spelling believes another baby will help them get out of debt because, although “Candy swore she wouldn’t give her daughter another penny,” she might change her mind “with an innocent child at stake.” The magazine’s questionable insider adds, “There’s no way she’ll leave her grandchildren wanting.”

The outlet’s “source” further purports McDermott “wanted no part” of this supposed pregnancy ruse, but his wife “insisted this was the only way her mom was going to help them out.” The alleged insider adds, “Candy knows they’re taking advantage of her, but Tori doesn’t really care. She says she’s saved her family.”

For starters, this far-fetched story makes very little sense. Spelling already has four young children ranging in ages from four to nine, so it isn’t clear why a fifth grandchild would convince Candy to fork over her fortune, but not do so for the other four. Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Spelling, who exclusively assures us the tabloid’s claim is simply “not true.” The actress isn’t bringing another child into the world for financial gain, and the magazine’s assertion otherwise is absurd.

Of course, we’re not particularly surprised by the outlet’s fabricated article. Gossip Cop recently busted Star for alleging Spelling was posing as other women online to catch McDermott cheating. There was no truth to that story, and this latest one is equally bogus.
