Tonya Harding was NOT invited to watch Nancy Kerrigan perform on “Dancing with the Stars,” despite a seemingly fabricated report. Gossip Cop can debunk this crazy story.

A headline in the National Enquirer exclaims, “Tonya To Terrorize Nancy On ‘DWTS’!” According to the supermarket tabloid, Kerrigan has an “unfair advantage” on the dance floor due to her years as an ice skater. Now her “crafty” fellow contestants have supposedly helped come up with a “devious plan to sabotage” her.

And that’s where “old nemesis” Harding comes in. A purported “tipster” claims to the gossip magazine that producers have now invited Harding to “sit in the front row and watch Nancy dance.” Says the alleged source, “They hope having Tonya on the set will add to the pressure and drama, and the ratings.”

To recap, the National Enquirer wants readers to believe ABC execs have actually signed off on inviting someone who has a criminal history with one of the contestants to sit in the studio audience. That would NEVER happen. And while producers may sometimes edit rehearsal footage to play up any drama between pros and their celeb partners, they have NEVER gone as far as “terrorizing” a contestant.

That is not going to suddenly change now with Kerrigan. To put it bluntly, there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that the former ice skaters are going to reunite at “Dancing with the Stars.” The only way that would go down is if Kerrigan actually wanted it, which is extremely unlikely. In case it isn’t abundantly clear at this point, Gossip Cop is told this outrageous tabloid story is simply made up.

Of course, the National Enquirer often specializes in the ridiculous. Back in 2013, Gossip Cop busted the outlet for falsely claiming Katie Holmes wanted to join “Dancing with the Stars.”
