Tom Cruise and his 13-year-old daughter Suri have been estranged for six years now. Suri lives with her mom, Katie Holmes, in New York City, while Cruise mostly spends his time in Clearwater, Florida when he's not traveling the globe making movies. There has been widespread speculation by the tabloids about reunions between them, which Gossip Cop has set the record straight on many times. These are some examples from just the past six months alone.
In May, Life & Style claimed Cruise ignored a plea by Suri for a reunion. In the phony report, the outlet said Suri has asked her dad to visit after a fight with her mother, but she was ignored. Unsurprisingly, there were very few details about how Suri even contacted Cruise, because the article was totally made up. Gossip Cop checked in with Holmes' rep who told us on the record, "This story has no truth. Katie is a wonderful mother and her daughter is thriving."
Just one week later, the Globe published an article alleging Cruise was trying to recruit Suri into Scientology. The tabloid claimed the Top Gun star had been in touch with his daughter for the first time in years and was "meddling with her mind." The outlet quoted a so-called "insider" as saying, "He's no doubt been putting Scientology thoughts in her head in the hopes that it will sink in," adding that Cruise thought Suri "is a true princess and belongs with them."
The article was completely bogus, however. Gossip Cop checked with Holmes' spokesperson, who assured us there was no reunion between Cruise and Suri, nor was the Church of Scientology trying to recruit the young girl. This was just another attempt by a tabloid to sell papers by concocting a fanciful story.
In October, Star alleged Holmes and Cruise were working out a way for him to see Suri again. According to this bogus report, Suri had spent "years" trying to reach out to her dad, only to be ignored. Sound familiar? It's probably because this phony article was likely an extension of the earlier report by Star's sister paper, Life & Style. Holmes was never "cautiously optimistic," about a reunion, as the tabloid asserted. There was never a plan to have Cruise and Suri meet up. Gossip Cop once again busted this tired narrative.
The same old report popped up once again just a couple of weeks ago when NW ran a cover story claiming Holmes was having a breakdown over Cruise coming back into Suri's life. Holmes wasn't having a breakdown over an imaginary scenario. There was never a "top-secret meeting in New York City," as the outlet alleged. The tabloid even acknowledged that its article was based on the bogus one in Star that Gossip Cop had already busted. There could possibly be a day when Cruise and Suri reunite, but it hasn't happened yet and doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon. If it does, you can trust Gossip Cop to report the facts.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
