Tom Cruise is not having a "midlife meltdown," despite a tabloid report claiming the movie star is "falling apart." Gossip Cop can debunk the baseless premise. It's simply untrue.
According to Woman's Day Australia, the actor has become a "broken man" after years of being single and estranged from his 12-year-old daughter Suri. A supposed source tells the magazine, "Tom is still a big deal in the industry and had a successful comeback with the last Mission: Impossible movie but his reputation isn't what it was and a lot of that has to do with the fact his personal life is virtually in tatters."
The alleged insider goes on to say that Cruise has started questioning his devotion to Scientology. "If he wants to see Suri again, he would have to leave Scientology," says the questionable tipster. "It would be a big decision - but as he gets older, he's realizing the importance of family and he's missing that type of stability in his life."
The seemingly phony source continues, "Tom seems to be looking for some kind of meaning in his life but he's conflicted over his ties to Scientology... This has all been bubbling under the surface, but now it's getting closer and closer to reaching a boiling point!"
The tabloid's narrative simply isn't accurate. Although there's a lot of mystery surrounding the actor's religion and relationship with his daughter, he's not in the midst of a breakdown. Cruise has been busy filming Top Gun 2 and remains passionate about his movie career. Last week, the star was snapped riding a motorcycle with big smile on his face while shooting a scene for the highly-anticipated sequel.
The idea that the actor is considering leaving Scientology isn't true either. In June, Cruise moved near Scientology headquarters in Clearwater, Florida. According to People, a much more reliable celebrity news outlet than Woman's Day Australia, the actor has been renovating a two-story apartment in Clearwater and is "very happy" in his new surroundings. The actor has been a committed member of Scientology since the late '80s and frequently credits the church with helping him find success.
The unreliable tabloid simply has no insight into the movie star's personal life. Gossip Cop busted the magazine in July for falsely claiming that Cruise was developing a romance with "Extra" host Renee Bargh. That clearly didn't happen. This latest article regarding a so-called "midlife meltdown" is no more truthful.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
