Tom Cruise is not begging Katie Holmes to take him back following her split from Jamie Foxx, despite an absurd tabloid report. Gossip Cop can debunk the story. Nothing about it is remotely true.

The movie star has been estranged from Holmes and their 13-year-old daughter Suri for several years, but according to NW, he's hoping for a reconciliation with his ex-wife now that she's single again. "Word is that the second Jamie was out of the picture, Tom had people make contact with Katie and humbly request a meeting," a supposed source tells the magazine.

The anonymous tipster goes on to say that Holmes is considering a face-to-face with her ex-husband as "she's definitely struggling after her breakup with Jamie." The supposed source says the actress will likely set up a meeting on her home turf in New York City because "she's not about to let Tom take complete control. If it happens, it happens where and when she says."

The alleged insider goes on to say that Cruise also wants to reconnect with his teenage daughter, which is one of the other reasons he's eager to make it work with Holmes. "He's never found love again after his divorce from Katie and people close to him are convinced he never got over her," adds the seemingly phony source. "He wants Suri back in his life, but he's also optimistic things could turn romantic again with Katie."

In addition to the tabloid's article being fictional, it doesn't make much sense. Holmes and Foxx had an on-and-off romance for several years, but they never settled down together and their dynamic was fairly unconventional. Cruise could have theoretically tried to come back into Holmes' life at any point since their 2012 divorce. The end of the actress's casual romance with Foxx isn't some major turning point, despite the outlet trying dragging Cruise into the narrative.

Regardless, Gossip Cop is told on the record by Holmes' rep that her ex-husband hasn't reached out about reuniting with either her or their daughter. We're told "nothing has changed" when it comes to Cruise's estrangement from his ex-wife and their teenage girl. NW is simply trying to capitalize on the actress's split from Foxx with a made-up scenario involving her ex-husband.

Gossip Cop busted the tabloid last month for falsely claiming Holmes was pregnant with Foxx's baby, so it's fairly clear the outlet never had any insight into the ex-couple's romance. Last year, we called out the magazine for making up a story about Cruise giving Holmes and Foxx his blessing to get married. Not only was that story fabricated, but it contradicts this latest one about the actor wanting his ex-wife back. The publication's track record speaks for itself.
