Exactly one year ago, a blog claimed that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were planning a meeting to discuss her romance with Jamie Foxx. That meeting never happened. Gossip Cop can confirm that the ex-spouses still haven't seen each other in years.
On September 14, 2017, Gossip Cop busted RadarOnline for falsely claiming that Cruise agreed to meet with Holmes so she could "clear-the-air" about her relationship with his Collateral co-star. The story was written shortly after photos emerged of Holmes and Foxx walking on a beach in Malibu. As we rightly suspected at the time, the article was published to capitalize on the paparazzi pictures.
The website had alleged that Holmes wanted her ex-husband to "come to terms with the fact she's dating his former friend." An additional reason for the meeting, according to the outlet, was for Cruise to "work out a regular visitation schedule" with their daughter Suri. Immediately after the story was published last year, multiple sources close to the situation told us there was no meeting in the works. Time has proven that to be the case.
Despite getting confirmation last year that Holmes and Cruise had no intention of sitting down together, Gossip Cop checked in with Holmes' rep to ensure nothing has changed. It hasn't. We're told on the record that the actress never met with her ex-husband anytime between last September and now, nor have they discussed meeting in the future. The ex-spouses have completely separate lives and haven't been in contact for several years, so it doesn't make sense why the actress would feel the need to "clear the air" about her relationship with Foxx.
Meanwhile, Holmes still has primary custody of their 12-year-old daughter Suri, who Cruise also hasn't seen in years. There was no "visitation schedule" worked out last September. In July, People did an extensive profile on Cruise's life, and made no mention of any changes regarding the custody of his daughter. The movie star hasn't been spotted with the young girl since 2013.
It's worth noting, RadarOnline's sister publication, Star, wrongly reported in January that Holmes and Foxx were "at war" with Cruise because he was "jealous" of them being together. That premise wasn't true either, but had there been a meeting to "clear the air," why would a war follow? Shortly later, the blog's other sister outlet, OK!, claimed Cruise was "upset" about Holmes and Foxx's relationship going public. Once again, if the exes had really held a meeting to hash things out, why would he be upset? This ongoing narrative surrounding the situation is completely bogus.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
