Is Tom Cruise "falling for" his female skydiving instructor? Only in the literal sense, despite a tabloid falsely claiming the movie star is "crushing on her big-time." Gossip Cop can debunk the bogus story.
According to the Globe, Cruise is "smitten" with 31-year-old Sian Stokes, the skydiving trainer who worked with him on 2018's Mission: Impossible - Fallout. A so-called "snitch" tells the outlet, "To say he's head over heels would be an understatement. He's still drooling over her."
The alleged source further suggests that Cruise may pursue a romance with Stokes, adding, "She's definitely his type - tall, athletic and beautiful. He couldn't help but stare at her when they were introduced. He was mesmerized." The questionable insider adds, "Usually it's the women who are wobbly around him, but Tom was clearly affected by Sian... Falling from the sky with Sian was a thrill for him."
Here's what's really happening. Less than two weeks ago, Stokes gave an interview to the Nottingham Post in which she spoke about working with Cruise on the latest Mission: Impossible sequel. The Globe didn't seem to know the woman existed until she gave that interview. Filming on Mission: Impossible - Fallout, which hit theaters last summer, took place nearly two years ago. If the movie star was truly "falling for" Stokes on set, why is the magazine only reporting it now? The reason is that the tabloid learned of the instructor's existence when she gave an interview late last month.
Gossip Cop, however, fact-checks stories, which is how we learned that Stokes has been married to fellow skydiving coach Ian Hodgkinson since November 2017. The couple tied the knot in a hot air ballon in China after five years of dating. The spouses now have their own business offering training sessions for skydivers.
Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Cruise, who assures us the publication's report is completely made-up. The actor isn't pursuing a married woman who he briefly worked with two years ago. The Globe is the same tabloid we busted last October for wrongly reporting that Cruise was dating Cher again more than 30 years after the two had a brief fling. As time has proven, the actor and the singer never rekindled a romance.
Shortly before that, the magazine made up a story about Cruise "crushing on" Barbra Streisand and trying to recruit her for Scientology. The untrustworthy outlet clearly has zero insight into the movie star's love life. This latest article linking him to a former skydiving teacher is more nonsense.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
