Tom Cruise and Elisabeth Moss are not dating, despite a false tabloid report. The phony story seems to have been made up simply because both stars are Scientologists. Gossip Cop can debunk the romance rumors.
In a recent interview with Marie Claire, the "Handmaid's Tale" star revealed she has a boyfriend who "shall remain nameless" because she wants to keep her love life private. According to OK!, the mystery man is Cruise. A supposed source tells the magazine, "Elisabeth has known Tom forever because they both belong to the Church of Scientology. But early last year, she told a friend a shocking secret: She's always had a crush on him. She had no idea word would get back to Tom and it would bring them together."
The alleged insider goes on to say that Cruise was initially hesitant to pursue a relationship with the actress because he "wasn't sure they'd have a connection," but after getting to know her better and bonding over their religious beliefs, he was "blown away." From there, the questionable tipster maintains that marriage and children may be around the corner. "That's Tom for you," adds the seemingly phony source. "He doesn't sit on things - he's a go-getter. When he makes a decision, he's on it. And he's decided he's in love with Elisabeth."
The tabloid's report is a complete fabrication. For starters, Moss said in her Marie Claire interview that her boyfriend often accompanies her to Toronto Raptors and Maple Leafs games. Cruise has never been spotted with the actress at any of these events. If one of the biggest movie stars in the world was frequenting the Toronto sports scene, he would have been noticed.
Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Moss, who tells us on the record that she's not dating Cruise. Despite what the magazine's anonymous "source" claims, the actress's spokesperson confirms she's not in a relationship with the fellow Scientologist. The publication's report is a total work of fiction.
It's worth noting, this isn't the first time this storyline has cropped up in the tabloids. Back in 2017, Gossip Cop busted OK!'s sister outlet, the National Enquirer, for falsely claiming Cruise was pursuing a romance with Moss. The narrative wasn't true then and it's no more accurate now.
Meanwhile, OK! has already proven to have zero insight into the Mission: Impossible star's love life. Gossip Cop previously called out the magazine for wrongly reporting that Cruise was dating The Mummy co-star Annabelle Wallis. As time has proven, the two were never a couple. This latest article involving Moss is equally untrue.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
