Tom Cruise’s love life has been the subject of many false tabloid stories. Gossip Cop frequently corrects bogus reports linking the movie star to various famous women. Here are five wrong dating rumors about Cruise.

This past May, Gossip Cop busted New Idea for falsely claiming that Cruise was dating Jane Fonda. The story only emerged because the stars appeared together on stage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. Around the same time the bogus romance rumors were published, Fonda said in an interview with “Extra” that she’s “not dating anymore.” The actress added, “I’m 80. I’ve closed up shop down there.”

Last November, Gossip Cop called out the National Enquirer for making up a story about Cruise pursuing a romance with fellow Scientologist Elisabeth Moss. We debunked the article immediately after it was published, and as time has shown, the two aren’t a couple. In fact, Moss told Marie Claire in May that she “has no time for dating.” The actress added, “It’s actually a problem. But I’m very focused on my work.”

In October, HollywoodLife and In Touch both wrote false stories about Cruise getting married to Mission: Impossible – Fallout co-star Vanessa Kirby. As Gossip Cop said at the time, the co-stars weren’t romantically involved in any capacity, let alone on the verge of walking down the aisle. Earlier this month, Kirby herself shot down the rumors she ever dated Cruise. “None of it is real,” the actress told Marie Claire. “To be getting married to him? Not even a snog, it was marriage.”

Gossip Cop busted the Enquirer in March of last year for wrongly reporting that Cruise was secretly romancing Angelina Jolie. The unreliable tabloid said the two started hooking up after meeting to discuss a film project. Of course, the stars never made a movie together and certainly never started dating. In the time since we debunked the story, reputable outlets such as People have confirmed that Jolie is “single and not interested in dating.”

And finally, Gossip Cop corrected the fake news site Headlines & Global News in November 2016 after it alleged that Cruise was getting back together with Katie Holmes. The outlet further contended that Jamie Foxx had dumped the actress after learning she was reuniting her ex-husband. As time has shown, Cruise and his ex-wife haven’t seen each other in several years and remain estranged to this day. Meanwhile, Holmes and Foxx were spotted on a date night in New York City earlier this week.
