Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are not renewing their vows after miraculously saving their marriage. It's just a sneaky rumor from one of the tabloids. Gossip Cop found it to be false.
The article, published in OK!, has a relatively harmless start, with the magazine's supposed "insider" telling the magazine that McGraw and Hill are "are happier than they've ever been" and the two are "absolutely crazy about each other." The story starts getting questionable when it goes into a made-up timeline of the couple's so-called "rough patches" and "marriage problems."
The outlet claims the couple's marriage "started to crack" as their three daughters - ranging in age from 17 to 22 - started getting older. "Faith took a break from recording in 2005 to stay home with the kids while Tim pushed on with his music and acting career," says the alleged source, adding that Hill started to "hear stories about Tim's wandering eye and flirty behavior — and wasn't happy." Once McGraw got sober, the insider claims, he "became a changed man, but that didn't change the fact that the constant whispers were painful."
The tabloid then points to another imaginary "rough patch" when "Tim told her that he was thinking about going on the road solo." According to the magazine, this caused Hill to confront her husband. "Tim and Faith were completely honest with each other about what was upsetting them - there was no holding back," the suspicious tipster adds.
"After that, it felt like they'd truly cleared the air and were able to start fresh," says the seemingly phony source. "They realized that they're supposed to be partners. And that together they can get through whatever is thrown their way."
And, of course, the piece includes the classic tabloid resolution for all celebrity couples: They're renewing their vows. "They want something intimate and spiritual at their home in Tennessee," the insider concludes. "It's been a long road of laughter, love, tears, and heartache, but they wouldn't have it any other way. They're so happy they never gave up on each other."
While no marriage is perfect, and we're sure the country star couple has had some disagreements over their 23-year marriage, the tabloid's account of events aren't accurate. Just a few months ago, OK! was swearing up and down that McGraw and Hill were going to have a messy divorce after "years of fights, secrets and lies" — the same fights and lies that they apparently breezed through, according to the tabloid's latest "report."
The only hint of truth in the magazine's article is the fact that McGraw and Hill are indeed happily married. Just last week, McGraw posted a sweet throwback picture on Instagram of him and Hill for their 23rd anniversary. OK!'s latest piece is just following Star, one of its sister publications, which also backtracked on previous divorce claims about Hill and McGraw in order to publish a misleading yet complimentary piece about their relationship. Just as Gossip Cop did for Star, we're totally dismissing OK!'s story.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
