Thor: Ragnarok hammered its box office competition to win the weekend. Get the details, and check out the grosses of the Top 10 movies below!

Thor: Ragnarok, in which Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as the hammer-wielding superhero, is the 17th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For this adventure, Thor is joined by fellow Avenger the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and faces a new foe named Hela (Cate Blanchett). The large cast also includes Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Anthony Hopkins, Karl Urban, Zachary Levi and Benedict Cumberbatch. There’s also an unexpected celebrity cameo, which Gossip Cop won’t spoil.

And while there’s certainly no shortage of action scenes, the movie is receiving raves for the way it incorporates humor. What’s most amazing is that, on top of coming in first place this weekend, the film’s opening of $117 million was significantly higher than both of the prior Thor movies. It was also a big boost for the overall box office, which has sagged for much of the fall. However, there was a big drop between the gross of Rangnarok and the rest of this weekend’s flicks.

Bad Moms 2, the raunchy Christmas-themed sequel that brought back Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn, had a rather mediocre debut with $17 million. Still, that was enough to rank second. Meanwhile, last week’s number-one movie, Jigsaw, dropped more than 60 percent to the number three spot with just $6.7 million. With ticket sales of $4.7 million, Boo! A Madea Halloween nabbed the fourth position, while Geostorm came in fifth place with a puny haul of $3 million.

Rounding out the Top 10 with equally unimpressive receipts were Happy Death Day in sixth with $2.8 million and seventh-place finisher Thank You For Your Service, which only took in $2.3 million. Securing eighth was Blade Runner 2049 , with $2.2 million in ticket sales, and in ninth was Only The Brave, having made just $1.9 million. Making into the last spot was The Foreigner. It earned $1.6 million.
