Thor Ragnarok Box Office Second Weekend

Thor, with the help of the Hulk, continued to smash the box office competition. For the second weekend in a row, Thor: Ragnarok won first place. Get the details, and check out the grosses for the full Top 10 movies below!

As Gossip Cop reported, Thor: Ragnarok had its highly-anticipated opening last weekend and it was quite successful, coming in significantly higher than the first two films in the Thor series. The movie has been widely praised for its comedic aspects, and co-star Tessa Thompson is winning raves ahead of her appearance in next year’s Avengers. It’s no surprise then that Ragnarok crossed the $200 million-mark in just two weekends. And its haul of $56.6 million this weekend gave it a first-place finish.

Daddy’s Home 2 performed better than predicted and, as a result, came in second with $30 million. Right behind it in third was Murder On The Orient Express. It took in $28.2 million. A Bad Moms Christmas secured the number four spot with $11.5 million in ticket sales. And coming in fifth with a distant $3.4 million was Jigsaw.

Rounding out this weekend’s Top 10 was Boo 2! A Madea Halloween in sixth. The latest Tyler Perry film raked in another $2 million. Seventh place went to Geostorm. However, the movie only earned $1.5 million. Blade Runner 2049 nabbed eighth with an equally unimpressive $1.4 million, followed by Happy Death Day in ninth, with just $1.3 million. Just making it into the Top 10 was the widely praised film Lady Bird. It earned $1.25 million.
