A new report alleges The Weeknd is helping Selena Gomez feel “more confident” to push her career forward, but the entire story is made-up. Gossip Cop can correct this bogus claim, which was posted by HollywoodLife. We’re told the article is “nonsense.”
According to the often discredited website, which routinely publishes fake stories about the couple, Gomez has turned to The Weeknd for a much needed “boost of confidence” in her career. In a so-called “exclusive,” a supposed “source” is quoted as saying, “[Gomez] has been waiting for an opportunity to work with another huge director for a major film.” Clearly referring to her upcoming role in a Woody Allen movie, the outlet’s dubious insider goes on to claim that Gomez is “eager to get juicier roles as an actress,” and with The Weeknd behind her, she’s “literally unstoppable.”
What’s more, the repeatedly disproven site further contends that The Weeknd, who “has had a lot to do with [Gomez’s] success,” has “helped her revamp her career over recent months.” “[Gomez] has never felt more confident, secure, and loved in a relationship,” maintains the webloid’s seemingly non-existent “source,” adding, “Selena credits his love, support, wisdom, and experience with helping her make all the right moves.” But, as Gossip Cop has repeatedly pointed out, HollywoodLies, as it’s nicknamed, has no real sources or evidence to back up its premise. The story is entirely made-up.
An actual source close to Gomez assures Gossip Cop the report is complete “nonsense.” Of course, the couple undoubtedly support each other, but the former Disney actress turned global superstar does not have The Weeknd to thank for her “recent success,” nor does she need him to help her feel “more confident” in her already successful career. The simple truth is, as we’ve noted in the past, no one from Gomez’s camp is feeding that website with information about the star.
Additionally, Gossip Cop called out the outlet just yesterday for wrongly claiming it had “exclusive” insight into how Gomez feels about working with Allen in an upcoming project. In that piece, HollywoodLies falsely alleged that despite “fan backlash,” Gomez was “excited” about working with the director. While that’s obviously true, or else she wouldn’t have take a part in the movie, no one close to the star spoke to the bad blog about her thoughts on the movie. Much like that fake story, this latest one is equally made-up.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
