“The View” co-hosts on Thursday expressed support for Stephen Colbert after his controversial “c*ck holster” joke about Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. Check out the video below.

As Gossip Cop reported, there were calls to “fire Colbert” after the “Late Show” host delivered a barrage of insults towards Trump during a monologue. That included saying, “The only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s c*ck holster.” Critics accused Colbert of being homophobic, and generally inappropriate given that he was talking about the president. On Wednesday’s show, the late-night host said he didn’t “regret” his insults, but “would change a few words that were cruder than they needed to be.”

Now on the ABC talk show, every single one of the panelists came to Colbert’s defense, beginning with Joy Behar. “The same people who are upset with him were not upset about that Access Hollywood tape. He’s a comedian. The president of the United States was much cruder with what he said that day,” she argued, adding, “We have First Amendment rights in this country. If you don’t like it, move to Russia.”

Sara Haines said she “understood why people were upset,” with those angered believing Colbert was wrongly insinuating Trump was gay. But she questioned why the reaction is “always firing someone.” Responded Whoopi Goldberg, “Because it gives people a sense of power, to get people fired based on what you say. I know this very well.”

“That’s just such a cowardly response, though,” Jedediah Bila said of those calling for Colbert’s termination. While she admitted she “didn’t love the joke,” she reminded detractors, “You can change the channel.” And similar to Behar, Sunny Hostin pointed out there’s been a “degradation of our social discourse, and the person who led the way is Donald Trump.”

She rattled off some of the offensive things Trump has said about Megyn Kelly and Hillary Clinton, noting, “None of it was funny. It was shocking to me that people were so offended by what [Colbert] said” and not Trump. Goldberg also stressed, “You’re allowed to say whatever you want to say, whether I like it or not.” Watch the video below.
