The View Rex Tillerson Moron

On Thursday’s “The View,” the co-hosts reacted to the scandal surrounding Rex Tillerson allegedly calling Donald Trump a “moron.” The Secretary of State and the president both denied the claims, but the controversy continues. Watch the video below.

After NBC News reported that Tillerson called Trump a “moron” and threatened to resign, he held an impromptu press conference on Wednesday to deny part of the allegations. He reaffirmed his commitment to this administration and denied he had to be talked into staying. As for the “moron” allegation, Tillerson said, “I’m not going to deal with petty stuff like that.” On the ABC talk show, Whoopi Goldberg observed, “What’s really interesting is he actually didn’t deny he called him a moron.”

“I respect the pivot,” laughed Sara Haines. Agreed Sunny Hostin, “It was a good pivot, wasn’t it?” Joy Behar also approved of the non-denial, arguing, “It sort of told you that he’s not gonna lie. He could have easily said, ‘I didn’t do it,’ and he didn’t say it, so he’s not really a liar. That’s good news.” Hostin pointed out that after Trump called the report “fake news,” the NBC News reporter actually “doubled-down” and gave the full, expletive-laden quote.

Goldberg then announced, “The person who could probably answer this question and many more questions about you-know-who is Joy.” Declared Behar, “I am confirming allegations that I actually called him a moron way before.” And she could prove it. The program showed a clip of Larry David reading from the comedienne’s upcoming book, in which she does, in fact, call Trump a “moron.”

Goldberg went on to bring up Tennessee Senator Bob Corker, who said Tillerson, Secretary Mattis and Chief of Staff Kelly “are those people that help separate our country from chaos.” She asked, “Should it terrify folks that there’s only three people keeping us off the precipice?” Hostin did feel they’ve “kept the chaos at bay.” But Behar was concerned by Corker’s remarks and Tillerson’s alleged comment. To her, things have become so bad behind-the-scenes, “It’s starting to filter down to people like Corker. They’ve become blurters. The administration’s blurters and leakers.” Check out the video below. NOTE: The video is no longer available.
