The View Republicans Healthcare

On Friday’s “The View,” the co-hosts reacted to male Republicans working on women’s healthcare as Donald Trump struggles to get votes for his plan. Watch below.

As Trump tries to get the House to pass his healthcare legislation, a caucus met on Thursday to discuss female health matters. But in a picture shared on Twitter by Vice President Pence, no women were present. The surprising optic came amid growing concern Trump’s plan won’t succeed.

On the ABC talk show, Joy Behar announced, “It looks like the Republicans are gonna be the big losers. Not that I’m gloating or anything, but I’m enjoying this so much.” But she was most definitely not enjoying watching men make decisions about women. And she wasn’t alone.

Paula Faris said, “Not to take anything away from these men, but who’s my champion in the room?” Sara Haines called the legislation “duplicitous,” noting it “won’t cover birth control and they want to take away anything to do with abortion.” She stated, “But they also want to cut spending on Planned Parenthood. I don’t know where they want women to go.”

Jedediah Bila said Sunny Hostin made a “great point” about Trump himself needing maternity care for wife Melania, and declared, “I agree there should be women at the table.” But, she stressed, “That’s our responsibility. We have to vote them in” to office. She did also acknowledge, though, that “there’s major problems with this bill.”

Hostin feared it would be a “death sentence” for some Americans, and Behar went on to ask about Trump, “If he can’t close this deal, how much will that damage him as the ‘great dealmaker’?” That led to a debate on the merits of Trumpcare versus Obamacare. Check out the videos below.
