“The View” co-hosts on Monday reacted to Oprah’s Golden Globes speech and debated whether she should run for president. Check out the video below.

As Gossip Cop reported, it was said nearly a year ago that Oprah was not going to run for president in 2020. But after her Cecil B. DeMille Award Speech at Sunday’s Golden Globes, it seems like running is now a distinct possibility. Discussing the subject on the ABC talk show, Joy Behar amusingly declared, “This is Donald Trump’s worst nightmare. Why? Because she will have higher ratings than he will.”

Sunny Hostin called it “surprising” that Oprah’s longtime partner, Stedman Graham, said at an after-party that she’d “absolutely” consider running if the “people” wanted it. Hostin went on, “I love Oprah, I love the stuff that she’s done… but don’t we already have someone in the White House who has no political experience and it’s not going that well.” She pointed out that in the case of Ronald Reagan, he went from acting to being a governor before running for president. “I don’t think you can just step into this role even if you’re as beloved as Oprah.”

Behar got laughs when she responded, “Why are you being so logical? Really, it’s too logical what you’re saying. We need someone who can win. That’s all we care about.” Hostin, however, replied seriously, “But it’s more than winning. You have to be able to run the country.” The comedienne argued, “They’ll figure it out just like he’s trying to do.”

Political commentator Ana Navarro, who was guest co-hosting, remarked, “I think it speaks to the hunger out there, the thirst for an alternative. There’s no clear runner, no clear nominee on the Democratic side. If Donald Trump showed us something, it’s that you can break the box.” She then pointed out some contrasts between Oprah and Trump, saying, “She is relatable for real.”

Meanwhile, Meghan McCain commented that as soon as you declare your candidacy, you “polarize the country… I don’t know if she wants that.” She added, “I wouldn’t underestimate her, I think you’re 1,000 percent right. It’s not that I don’t think she could president, it’s just does she ultimately want to, which I’m not convinced of.”

Despite that, Behar rattled off Oprah’s big accomplishments, exclaiming, “She started her own damn network, for god’s sake. Something that even Trump hasn’t been able to do. So what’s the next step? Run the world!” Watch the video below.
