The View Ivana Melania Trump

On Tuesday’s “The View,” the co-hosts mocked Ivana and Melania Trump for feuding. Ivana, of course, is Donald Trump’s first wife, while Melania is his third wife and the current First Lady. Watch the video below.

As Gossip Cop reported, in a “GMA” interview broadcast Monday, Ivana joked, “I am basically first Trump wife, I’m First Lady, okay?” That quip earned Melania’s ire. Her press secretary released a statement saying, “Mrs. Trump has made the White House a home for Barron and the President. She loves living in Washington, DC, and is honored by her role as first lady of the United States. She plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books. There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex, this is unfortunately only attention-seeking and self-serving noise.”

Now on the ABC talk show, most of the panelists were amused by Ivana’s comment and the mini-scandal it sparked. “That clip made laugh… That was actually kind of funny. What made me laugh harder is you don’t hear Melania push back on anything in the press and what it took was Wife One to make her angry,” Sara Haines said. Of the First Lady’s response, Joy Behar said, “Melania is learning from her husband. When they hit you, you hit back harder… Does anyone in that family ever take the high road?” Quipped Haines, “Normally Melania does!”

Meghan McCain came to Melania’s defense, stressing the “sacred” bond between president and first lady. “You have to be a team, there’s no other option… I think the implication somehow that Ivana has a direct line and is feeding information to [Donald], if that was my mother, she would’ve clapped back just as hard.” Sunny Hostin admitted she was “saddened by the whole exchange,” because “they are all a family and they have to be a blended family and work together.” And if she were Ivanka Trump, Hostin said, “I would be offended by that [statement from Melania], because now you’re talking about my mother.”

Cracked Behar, “She should throw some shoes at her!” The laughs continued as Goldberg announced, “There is one good thing to come out of this First Lady feud. Here’s something to put on your Christmas list this year.” The show then showed a faux commercial for a game called “Rock Em Sock Em Trump Wives,” in which robots with Ivana and Melania’s faces could fight. Unlike her colleagues, though, McCain wasn’t laughing. “It makes me sad that this is such a distraction and [Melania] hasn’t been given the liberty Michelle Obama has,” she said.

Goldberg disagreed with this being such a huge deal, opining that Ivana was merely having fun and suggesting it’s possible Melania was being “funny” with her response, too. Check out the video below. NOTE: The video is no longer available.
