On Friday’s “The View,” the co-hosts debated Hillary Clinton feuding with Bernie Sanders over her election loss. Watch the video below.

In excerpts released from Clinton’s upcoming book, she accuses Sanders of not stepping up early enough to support her, and also claims his campaign stole her ideas. He responded during an appearance on “The Late Show” Thursday night, saying, “Let’s not keep arguing about 2016.” Now on the ABC talk show, the panelists were very divided and took sides. After watching a clip of Sanders’ remarks, Faris declared, “I love it. He didn’t take the bait, and I have to say I applaud him for that.”

Joy Behar, however, commented, “I love Bernie, but why is he telling a woman to be quet? I don’t like that.” Jedediah Bila countered, “He’s not telling her to be quiet. He’s telling her to look forward.” This started a back-and-forth as Behar exclaimed, “He’s saying move on and stop bitching. Well, you know what? She won the election by 3 million votes! She has the right to bitch!” Bila argued right back, “She’s picking on him and he’s answering and saying, ‘You know what, this election is over but the country has a future. What happened in the past is in the past. Let’s come together.'”

“She will after she sells her book,” Behar said with exasperation. “Let the woman sell her book.” Bila angrily replied, “Let the woman take responsibility and say, ‘I lost this election because of me.’ Stop blaming Obama. Stop blaming everybody else.” Sara Haines pointed out, though, that this book is likely a “catharsis” for Clinton, and while “this conversation is not productive because the election’s over,” “the timing is due to a book… [and] people are pulling out the fodder.”

Whoopi Goldberg also remarked, “Bernie wasn’t interested in [coming together] at the time. She’s not the president. But let’s be realistic. Do you really think she was gonna win?… I don’t think any Democrat was going to win.” Behar responded, “But she did win… I think she has every right to write a book and speak about it.” Faris, clearly on Bila’s side, shot back, “At some point you also have to take responsibility, if she just said, ‘I lost fair and square.'” Goldberg, in line with Behar, stressed, “But we don’t know that she lost fair and square… Had this election happened anywhere else the way it did, we as America would’ve gone in to check all the checks and balances. We’ll never know.”

Behar and Haines also agreed that misogyny and biased media coverage played a role, but Bila hit back by pointing out that the Democratic National Committee tried to sway things in Clinton’s favor over Sanders’. “If she’s going after Bernie, he has a right to come back and say, ‘No, that’s not how it went down,” the co-host stated. As Gossip Cop reported earlier this week, Clinton will be on “The View” next Wednesday. Check out the full video of today’s tense discussion below.
