On Friday’s “The View,” the co-hosts insisted Harvey Weinstein is not a sex addict but a sexual predator. Watch the video below.

Joy Behar began by saying the sexual assault and harassment allegations against Weinstein are “piling up,” and played paparazzi footage of the disgraced movie mogul telling photographers, “I’m not doing okay. I’m trying. I gotta get help. You know what? We all make mistakes. Second chance, I hope.” She then angrily exclaimed, “A mistake is locking your keys in the car. He’s trying to reduce a 20-year reign of sexual terror down to ‘Oops, I made a mistake!'” She went on to say, “Is that offensive? I find that offensive to say everybody makes mistakes.”

“It was really offensive,” agreed Sunny Hostin, who said, “I don’t believe it’s about a sex addiction. If you know anything about rape and sexual assault, that’s the kind of work I did at the Justice Department, it’s about power and anger towards women. It has nothing to do with sex. So this suggestion somehow, ‘I’m a sex addict, so that’s why I sexually assaulted and raped and harassed women over a 20 year period’ is ridiculous.”

Behar called it “predatory behavior,” and pointed out that another famous sex scandal, Tiger Woods’s affairs, is “not the same thing.” Hostin stressed, “That would be consensual. We’re talking about non-consensual sexual harassment and assault” with Weinstein. Noting the audio of Weinstein trying to get a woman he groped to return to his hotel room, Sara Haines said, “There’s nothing romantic. There’s nothing sexual going on. It’s about getting her in the room.” Similarly, with the story of Weinstein pleasuring himself in front of a woman whom he refused to let leave, “There’s nothing sexual. There’s no intimacy. It’s power. It’s predatory,” she said.

“It’s too gross to talk about this really in the morning… It’s like the grossest story. It’s gonna make me gag,” McCain complained. She then brought up Weinstein’s contract with The Weinstein Company, which reportedly said he would not be fired for sexual harassment complaints if he paid any settlements out of his own pocket. She sarcastically said, “I feel like, if I went to my lawyer like, ‘I might sexually harass or rape someone, but if I pay for it, I’m good.'”

Hostin, however, explained, “You can’t contract away crime. And you can’t protect yourself that way.” She added, “We’re learning now some of the executives knew, some of the board members knew. There’s so much civil exposure there. I really hope these women get together and sue the pants off the company.” And she said she doesn’t think it’s “true” that Weinstein will escape prosecution. “There’s so many women coming forward. If these women come forward in New York now, if they come forward in California, if they come forward in London, he should be behind bars,” she said.

But, she read aloud a statement from Weinstein’s rep, in which it was said “any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied.” “We have to say this, since you’re innocent until proven guilty… So he says he didn’t do this,” she noted. McCain responded, “But in [the aforementioned] video, he’s not showing any remorse. He’s like, ‘People make mistakes. Rapes happen. Bada bing, bada boom. Whatever.’ You sound like such a moron.” Agreed Haines, “Every statement he’s come out, he says ‘I’m going to reclaim my life’ with no mention of the victims he’s left in his path.”

Argued Behar, “These men think it’s locker room talk. They minimize this type of behavior and they find it normal after a while… Men need consciousness in this area.” And Paula Faris brought up the stars and people who have said phrases like “as a parent of daughters” in their condemnation statements. “You don’t have to have to be parent, you don’t have to have a daughter to know sexual assault is wrong,” she declared.
