On Wednesday’s “The View,” the co-hosts reacted to Donald Trump pledging to “revisit” DACA. Watch the video below.

As Gossip Cop reported, on Tuesday it was announced that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, as started by Barack Obama, is ending, unless Congress passes its own legislation allowing so-called “Dreamers,” the children of undocumented immigrants, to stay in the U.S. and get work permits. “The View” panelists reacted to DACA ending right after the decision was announced, but later in the day, Trump sent tweets suggesting he may change his stance.

“I look forward to working w/ D’s + R’s in Congress to address immigration reform in a way that puts hardworking citizens of our country 1st,” he wrote, later adding, “Congress now has 6 months to legalize DACA (something the Obama Administration was unable to do). If they can’t, I will revisit this issue!” Now on the new episode of the ABC talk show, Whoopi Goldberg read the second tweet aloud, and cracked, “Of course he got in his ‘thanks, Obama’ thing. He’s obsessed with Obama.” She then asked her colleagues if the president is truly reconsidering.

Replied Joy Bear, “He wants both. He wants to look like a compassionate person… and then he has to appeal to his base, who wants the Dreamers out of here. So he doesn’t know which way to do.” Asked Sunny Hostin, “Don’t you want someone who is a person of conviction?” She pointed out that Trump previously praised the program in 2013, and wondered, “Is that his real position?” Sara Haines suggested he didn’t really understand the complexities of this policy change. “I think there was complexity like [deportation] that he didn’t grasp, which is why he came out later [with more comments],” she argued, even saying that his remarks on DACA are “one of the first time he sounds like he cares and I believe it.”

“Don’t believe it,” Behar shot back. Jedediah Bila went on to say of Trump, “I think he actually supports keeping what’s in place now… I think he’s saying, ‘Congress, go handle this as you were supposed to a long time ago.'” She and Goldberg then clashed on whether he personally is putting “Congress’ feet to the fire.” While Bila said “he is,” the moderator shot back, “Instead, he sent out Jeff Sessions. It’s just like, ‘c’mon.'” Added Hostin, “I think he’s hiding behind this notion of legality, that he wants to make it legal.” She further noted that Obama released a statement calling this issue a “political decision and moral question.”

Yet Bila also repeatedly said Obama was at fault for this situation, leading Goldberg to remark, “But he’s not the president anymore. So let’s get the person who’s supposed to be doing the job make the decision. He has no balls… I’m getting tired of him throwing Obama in. Obama’s not the president. Mrs. Clinton didn’t become president. That’s your job [and] not to tweet it.” Responded Bila, “I read this as him doing exactly that.” Check out the video below.
