The View Trump Putin Intelligence

On Monday’s “The View,” the co-hosts blasted Donald Trump for seemingly siding with Vladimir Putin over U.S. intelligence. Watch the video below.

To kick off the conversation, Whoopi Goldberg said the president has “really outdone himself on his trip to Asia.” She pointed out how Trump initially said he believed Putin when the Russian leader said his country did not meddle in the U.S. election. He also criticized U.S. intelligence agencies as “political hacks.” After a massive backlash, the president tried to clarify by claiming he was just saying what he thinks Putin believes, while he personally believes the U.S. intelligence reports that say Russia did interfere.

Mocking Trump’s awkward backtracking, Goldberg commented, “I believe that he believes that I believe that Meghan believes that I believe that Sunny believes that Joy believes that Sara believes that I believe that y’all believe.” Joy Behar then argued that Trump is purposefully casting doubt on U.S. intelligence to make his supporters suspicious, “so when the indictments go down, he can rest on your belief that he’s innocent.”

“This is exactly what Putin wants. He wants us to have a lack of faith in our intelligence communities,” replied an angry Meghan McCain. She went on to rant, “It is very, very important that we don’t get de-sensitized to how intense this is. The president of the United States of America is saying we can’t trust our intelligence communities, but we can trust a KGB dictator who is aiding and abetting the largest refugee crisis since World War II, the gassing of innocent children in Syria right now, while trying to annex the Baltic states and annexing Crimea, everything that’s going on in the Ukraine.”

McCain continued, “He is dedicated to the destruction of the West and we are watching this play out in real time. For every American in here, I never thought as a Republican, the party of ‘Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall,’ I would be sitting here today with the normalizing of a murderous KGB dictator.” Expressing her approval, Goldberg exclaimed, “Speak girl!”

And McCain wasn’t done. She went on, “I implore the American public that this is a moment in history. I was deeply upset over the weekend at these statements, and I think everyone should know, this is very intense and this is very serious. We’re going to normalize the gassing of children. This is a watershed moment for us Americans and we can’t let anyone get away with this.” She also strongly stated, “If we were in Russia today, all of us would be in jail or murdered.”

Now Goldberg was just as fired up. She noted that while “we don’t always agree politically… there is no one in this country who can stand up and say, ‘I agree with anything that’s happened here…’ You can’t be an American citizen who believes in our democracy and side with that.” Check out the video below.
