On Thursday’s “The View,” the co-hosts reacted to Donald Trump tweeting about Nordstrom and daughter Ivanka Trump. Watch below.

As Gossip Cop reported, Trump slammed Nordstrom on Wednesday for dropping Ivanka’s line, even though the company said it was cutting ties with the brand only because it was underperforming. On the talk show, Joy Behar read aloud the president’s full tweet, which said, “My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person — always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!”

Behar then asked incredulously, “Wait, our president needs his daughter to tell him the right thing to do?” Sunny Hostin said Trump was trying, “Not only to protect his daughter, but to harm Nordstrom.” But, the store’s stock actually rose in the wake of the tweet. “I think he got something that he was not expecting,” Hostin said of the aftermath.

Sara Haines questioned why Trump, a mogul, wouldn’t get the numbers involved. “He’s a businessman, so he should understand this. What business would cut a line that was making money? Because businesses speak in numbers, so there’s no way they would cut something that was making money,” she pointed out. The former “GMA” and “Today” contributor added, “He’s misusing the platform to call someone out on that when they’ve spoke up in business-terms why they did it.”

And Behar also said that with Trump and his daughter both having a history selling products not made in America, “I’d like to salute Nordstrom for being patriotic.” Check out the video below. NOTE: The video is no longer available.
