On Tuesday’s “The View,” the co-hosts reacted to Donald Trump denying the sexual assault allegations against him and attacking Kirsten Gillibrand. Watch the video below.

After Senator Gillibrand on Monday called for Trump to resign, due to the nearly 20 accusations against him, the president tweeted this morning, “Despite thousands of hours wasted and many millions of dollars spent, the Democrats have been unable to show any collusion with Russia – so now they are moving on to the false accusations and fabricated stories of women who I don’t know and/or have never met. FAKE NEWS!”

He went on, “Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Chuck Schumer and someone who would come to my office ‘begging’ for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump. Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED!” In response, she replied, “You cannot silence me or the millions of women who have gotten off the sidelines to speak out about the unfitness and shame you have brought to the Oval Office.”

Now on the ABC talk show, Whoopi Goldberg read aloud part of Trump’s tweet, specifically the contention that Gillibrand would do “anything” for campaign contributions. Joy Behar interjected, “What is that implying, may I ask? What do you think? Is it sexual favors?” Sara Haines offered, “Well, the language is just a little bit loaded. It’s ironic in a sexual harassment conversation to use that.”

An angry Sunny Hostin said, “I think it’s disgusting. I mean, if my 15-year-old tweeted that out about one of his classmates, his phone would be snatched, he would be in so much trouble at home, and we’ve got the United States president doing that. It’s so beneath the dignity of the office. It’s so infantile. What is going on?!” Behar also pointed out, “Nothing changes the fact that 16 women have accused him of sexual harassment. And these women are talking, they’re going to court, and we’ll see what happens.”

Goldberg called for congressional investigations, and Meghan McCain said of Gillibrand, “If she’s smart, she should take this tweet, fundraise off it‏, use it in order to showcase [her crusade].” She also argued that the president’s tweets are a distraction, and the moderator agreed, saying, “It’s the smoke-and-mirror thing — ‘Look over here, you won’t see what’s happening over there!'” Still, Goldberg went on, “It’s hard to justify to people that we are letting folks go, left and right, and at the top, sitting there, is this person who has allegations that we are kicking everbody else’s a** about. We have to do it to everybody or we do it to nobody.”

Added Behar, “Well, according to what I understand, the House of Representatives has to impeach him. The Republican party has to impeach him, so the ball is in your court.” Goldberg responded, “First, let’s get the ethics committee on it first. Let’s start with that, and then we’ll go wherever it needs to go.” Check out the video below.
