“The View” co-hosts on Friday slammed Donald Trump for empathizing with Kim Jong Un. Check out the video below.

Trump expressed sympathy for the controversial North Korean leader in his new Reuters interview, noting how he stepped up to run the regime after his infamous father’s death. “He’s 27 years old. His father dies, took over a regime. So say what you want, but that is not easy, especially at that age,” Trump said. The president said he wasn’t “giving him credit or not giving him credit,” but “that’s a very hard thing to do.”

His comments, however, were interpreted by many as praise for a foreign enemy. On the ABC talk show, Joy Behar exclaimed, “This guy hasn’t met a dictator he doesn’t like… And yet for Obama, not a nice word to be said.” Ken Jeong, who was guest co-hosting for the show’s “Guy Day Friday,” remarked, “There’s like an odd sense of respect he has for autocrats, because he interprets that as strength, but with his allies, he’s so dismissive.”

Sunny Hostin agreed, saying, “It’s true. It’s bizarre.” And with Trump clashing with some of our allies, Sara Haines noted, “We don’t have friends to throw away right now in the international scene.” Paula Faris, however, wondered if Trump was just trying not to provoke Un to “anger,” because if he went hard on him, “That, too, could be inflaming tensions.”

Haines countered, “If you’re going to go and lift up a despot, a dictator, don’t say anything at all.” Watch below.
