On Tuesday’s “The View,” the co-hosts slammed Donald Trump for his speech at the Boy Scouts jamboree. Watch the video below.

As Gossip Cop reported, Trump is under fire for the speech he gave to the Boy Scouts, because it was far more political and personal than it was motivation and inspiring. Now on the ABC talk show, Whoopi Goldberg began by noting presidents have participated in the jamboree for eighty years, usually extolling “citizenship, service and community while staying far away from politics.” Yet, she said, “the new guy, he just couldn’t let it be the Boy Scout jamboree.”

She then presented a montage of clips from the event, titled, “Things Not To Say When Giving A Speech To 40,000 Boy Scouts.” The footage included Trump highlighting the stock market, calling out “fake media,” saying he needs more “loyalty,” insisting people can say “merry Christmas,” dissing Barack Obama, and threatening to fire health secretary Tim Price, who was a Boy Scout and on stage with him. After showing that, Goldberg noted that President Obama didn’t attend the last jamboree because he happened to be on “The View” that day, and he instead sent a video message, as have most other presidents.

“The point is, what the hell is going on here?!” she then asked. Replied Joy Behar, “Well, he’s obsessed with Obama still and Hillary Clinton and everything but trying to do something in the office.” Sara Haines pointed out that the Boy Scouts’ motto is “be prepared.” She went on, “In this moment, you are a role model. Whether you see the president as that is another issue. It just seemed he didn’t prepare himself for the audience he was speaking to. This was not the place to throw down politics.”

That led Behar to remind everyone, “He was at a prayer breafast, and he was talking about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ratings at The ‘Apprentice.'” Sunny Hostin then asked her colleagues, “Do you think people are embarrassed, people who voted for him?” A passionate Jedediah Bila responded, “Yes! Forget about people who voted for him. I didn’t vote for him and I’m embarrassed! I feel like I wake up every day and I have to apologize for this guy. I’m proud of my country, but this behavior is insane.”

She further noted that the Boy Scouts released a statement stressing they are non-partisan and don’t endorse political comments. “The fact that they had to come out and say that after a president of the United States spoke there, he should be humiliated,” Bila angrily said. “This is not a campaign rally, and he does know the difference and he doesn’t care!”

Goldberg ultimately concluded, “He should’ve said thank you and left and let other people talk.” Check out the video below. NOTE: The video is no longer available.
