The View Trump 9/11

On Tuesday’s “The View,” the co-hosts slammed Donald Trump for comments he made about 9/11 and going to Mars. Watch below.

The president asked astronaut Peggy Whitson on Monday about “sending humans to Mars,” and how quickly it can be done. She responded by reminding him that, according to a bill he signed, the target date is in the 2030s. Trump then told her, “Well, we want to try to do it during my first term or, at worst, during my second term, so we’ll have to speed that up a little bit.”

Now on the ABC talk show, the panelists expressed shock that Trump was clueless about legislation he signed during such an important chat. “He went into that, it’s almost like, with no information,” complained Whoopi Goldberg. “How does he not remember what he signed already?” Jedediah Bila called it “concerning,” and they also ripped Trump for thinking the Mars program could be sped up so easily.

Goldberg said to the camera, “Listen, it ain’t gonna happen, man. This is why you need to know stuff. You need to know what these astronauts go through… I mean, c’mon man. You signed the damn bill!” The moderator then brought up Trump’s new Associated Press interview, in which he bragged about his “Face The Nation” appearance earning the highest ratings since the show’s coverage of 9/11.

“That is sacrosanct. You don’t use 9/11 to bolster yourself. What the hell?!” exclaimed Goldberg. Joy Behar commented, “In the words of Holden Caulfield, he’s as sensitive as a toilet seat… How tone deaf can you be to brag about your ratings [compared] to that tragedy?”

Sunny Hostin also pointed out that the transcript of the AP interview repeatedly states Trump was “unintelligible.” She asked, “Why is our president unintelligible throughout an interview with the Associated Press?” She and Sara Haines also agreed that even when his words were clearly spoken, what he said “doesn’t make sense.”

Bila further marveled over the president’s admission that he wasn’t really familiar with the bombs he ordered dropped in Syria. “Why would you let the whole world know you weren’t ready for this job?” she asked. Goldberg shot back, “We already knew that.” Going back to the 9/11 issue, she added, “This is tasteless. This is a tasteless thing.”

It all culminated in Behar declaring, “This is all about his privates, also. Can I just say that?” Check out the videos below.
