The Game was sentenced to three years probation for punching a cop during a 2015 basketball game. He also received a 180-day suspended jail sentence.

As Gossip Cop reported, The Game was playing basketball with a group of people when he got in an argument with Onyebuchi Awaji, an off-duty officer with the LAPD. Video showed the rapper surprising the cop with a punch from behind. The Game later lost a $100,000 lawsuit filed by Awaji because he never responded to the suit.

Now the performer is facing the music in criminal court. After pleading no contest to misdemeanor battery and making criminal threats, he was ordered to complete 26 anger management sessions, in addition to 120 days of community service. If he gets into any further trouble during the three-year probationary period, he could be forced to fulfill the 180-day jail sentence.

In a related case, The Game also pleaded no contest to felony grand theft for stealing a paparazzo’s camera while he was being served with Awaji’s lawsuit, according to TMZ. The rap star has spent the last few years embroiled in a number of legal issues. Most recently, as Gossip Cop reported, The Game requested a retrial in a sexual assault case after he was ordered to pay more than $7 million to the victim.
