Teresa Giudice is not "cheating" on imprisoned husband Joe Giudice, despite a new tabloid cover story accusing her of infidelity. An attorney for the "Real Housewives" star denies the allegation.

"Teresa Cheating On Joe?" asks the new cover of Us Weekly, which further says, "With her husband in prison, the New Jersey Housewife is rocked by rumors she's in a hot romance with a hunky family friend. Could divorce be next?" Inside the issue, a headline asks, "Teresa's Revenge Romance?"

With all these questions, the tabloid doesn't seem too confident in its scandalous cover story. Still, the article alleges Teresa has "embarked on a romance with a New Jersey businessman." The publication's source is "close pal turned adversary Kim DePaola," who claims, "They've been pretty cozy I'm going to say in the last few months."

"I heard that she's seeing this guy and sexting him all the time," she alleges to the gossip magazine. One would think an "adversary" isn't a trustworthy source. And DePaola admittedly has no firsthand knowledge of this purported affair. In fact, her claims to the outlet are based on what she was told by a hairstylist and "another informant," as the publication puts it.

Notably, the alleged paramour is never named, nor is he pictured, in the article, despite DePaola claiming she was sent a photo of him. The tabloid's story goes on to contend Teresa learned her former friend was spreading these cheating rumors, and confronted her at an event as "Bravo's cameras rolled." This very may well be a storyline on the new season of "Real Housewives of New Jersey," but that doesn't mean Teresa is actually guilty of being unfaithful.

James Leonard, an attorney for Teresa, insists the cheating claims are not only "1,000 percent false," but also "manufactured by attention-seeking lowlifes who have no moral compass." He notes the reality star "vehemently denies" the accusations, and maintains, "The only man in Teresa's life is Joe." As Gossip Cop reported, Joe started his 41-month prison sentence in March 2016. That June, OK! falsely claimed Teresa planned on dumping him while he was behind bars. So far, time has proven that allegation to be untrue, as we said it was nearly a year ago.

Our Verdict

Gossip Cop believes there to be elements of truth, but the story is ultimately misleading.
