Teresa Giudice is not forbidding her kids from visiting their dad, Joe Giudice, in Italy, where he's been living following his release from prison. A tabloid report claiming otherwise is false. Gossip Cop has investigated the story and we can debunk it.
An article in the National Enquirer this week alleges the Real Housewives Of New Jersey stars are headed for a "divorce war" and "the children are right in the thick of it!" Specifically, Teresa has told their four daughters that they are not allowed to travel to Rome to see their father. The publication quotes a so-called "insider" as saying, "Teresa forbids it! She's afraid he won't let them come back!"
The supposed insider also claims that Teresa is preparing to fight Joe for custody of their kids, and has no plans of her own to travel overseas to visit her husband. "Teresa won't even consider going with them, she's too busy with her career and she still blames Joe for getting them into the mess," adds the suspicious tipster. The magazine's "source" also asserts Teresa is "getting her ducks in a row before filing for divorce and she wants full custody of the girls."
Joe was released from prison last year after serving three years for fraud and other crimes. After his release from jail, he was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and scheduled to be deported. Joe has been fighting deportation, but instead of remaining in an ICE facility, he chose to stay in Italy while his case works its way through immigration court.
While the question of the divorce still hangs in the air, especially after a tense interview with Teresa and Joe on Watch What Happens Live this week, Teresa is definitely not banning the couple's kids from visiting their father. Gossip Cop checked with our own source close to the family, who tells us the story is not only false, but the whole family is planning a trip Italy "this time next week," Teresa included.
This is hardly the first time the Enquirer has been wrong in its reporting about the family. In September, the tabloid published an article alleging Teresa was demanding that her kids get paid for their appearances on RHONJ. That story said Teresa was trying to "secure the girls' financial future," but Gossip Cop looked into the claim and learned that Bravo only pays the wives for the Real Housewives franchise, and that's how it's always bene. Teresa's lawyer also confirmed she wasn't demanding her daughters get paid.
Gossip Cop has determined this story is totally false.
