Taylor Swift is not spending “millions of dollars” on her new boyfriend Joe Alwyn, despite a made-up report. Gossip Cop can correct this claim. We’re told it’s untrue.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Swift is “squandering millions of dollars” on Alwyn. The often unreliable website notes that the singer is supporting her actor boyfriend and “recently rented a beautiful home in North London” to be closer to Alwyn. The outlet then notes how “home rentals in London are some of the most expensive in the world,” but Swift is so confident in her relationship that she “signed a six month lease so the two could be together.”

Gossip Cop will interrupt CDL to point out that Swift already owns a home in London, and has for some time. When touring in Europe, she uses her place as a base from which she can easily fly from and then back to instead of moving from one hotel to another in different cities. With that noted, let’s resume as the webloid buries itself deeper into its abyss of inaccuracy.

Irrespective of the facts, CDL continues to claim that Swift is “willing to drop a ton of cash” for Alwyn, because she’s “shopping for a home for the two of them to share in London’s affluent Chelsea neighborhood.” The clueless site adds that the singer is “willing to pay millions to live in the wealthy neighborhood.” Out of respect for Swift’s privacy, Gossip Cop will not say where she has a home.

To say the webloid’s track record with Swift stories is bad would be an understatement. In the past, Gossip Cop has busted the same untrustworthy outlet for wrongly reporting Swift was breaking up Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik, so that her model friend could spend more time with her. We also exposed the site a few months ago when it absurdly claimed Swift was dating Calvin Harris again. Neither of those (or several other CDL) articles bore any semblance to reality, and the same can be said for this new fake news story. A Swift source assures us the report is wrong. Gossip Cop also reached out to a rep for comment.
