A new HollywoodLife story detailing why Taylor Swift “won’t judge” Selena Gomez for rekindling her friendship with Justin Bieber is entirely made-up. Gossip Cop is assured the site hasn’t “exclusively learned” the singer’s reaction to the reunion, despite claiming to have insider knowledge.

Exes Bieber and Gomez were spotted hanging out on Sunday at her house with mutual friends, which has prompted the website to capitalize on the situation with a fake story. Back when Gomez was dating the pop star, there were many reports indicting Swift believed he was a bad influence on her friend, but now the untrustworthy outlet claims to have the scoop on why Swift is “taking a different approach” and “isn’t salty over their reunion.”

A so-called “insider” tells the outlet, “Taylor has been down this road before and has seen the tears that Selena has shed over Justin; and she has given her advice time and time again. Taylor still is not the biggest Justin fan, but she can’t babysit anymore.” The website’s questionable source continues, “Taylor realizes that Selena is an adult and she can make her own decisions. She doesn’t have to agree with them, but that isn’t going to affect their friendship negatively, as it might have in the past.”

However, this bogus article is yet another example of “HollywoodLies” taking a story circulating in the news and concocting its own supposedly “exclusive” angle. Gossip Cop is assured the blog didn’t get an authentic Swift “insider” to spill the singer’s thoughts on Gomez and Bieber spending time together. Once again, the site has published fan fiction as opposed to actual journalism.

In fact, HollywoodLife’s phony report was published just hours after the site fabricated a different story surrounding the situation. Earlier Thursday, we called out the webloid for falsely claiming The Weeknd has been inspired to apologize to ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid after seeing his girlfriend reconnect with her ex. Unfortunately, Gossip Cop suspects this won’t be the last of the outlet’s made-up “exclusives” about Bieber and Gomez’s reunion.
