Taylor Swift has NOT replaced Selena Gomez in her squad with Blake Lively, despite a silly report. Gossip Cop can bust the claim, which continues the shameful tabloid tradition of pitting women against each other.

In the new issue of Life & Style, it’s said there “used to be mad love” between Swift and Gomez, “but now there’s drama in the squad!” According to the magazine, Swift is making “squad changes,” and “Selena’s out” while “Blake’s in.” The article claims Swift has “distanced herself” from Gomez because “Taylor’s annoyed that Selena keeps hanging out with bad-boy ex Justin Bieber.”

“So she handed down her punishment, well, Swift-ly,” writes the outlet, quoting a so-called “insider” as saying, “Taylor has moved on with her new BFF Blake Lively. They even hung out in Australia together.” The alleged source goes to claim that Swift believes Lively “is a better woman to be in her girl squad,” and “thinks Blake is more mature than Selena.”

This is just stupid, not to mention mean. First off, it seems like Swift’s recent hangout with Lively is the only reason Life & Style is running this story. Second, the superstar has made it clear there’s more than enough room in her “squad” for many women. It’s not a competition.

Lastly, Gomez and Swift are hardly on the outs. Their friendship has stood the test of time, through Bieber drama and new pals, and continues to remain solid. In fact, Gomez posted a sweet birthday tribute for Swift earlier this month, writing, “I don’t know life without you Taylor.” If she was suddenly kicked out of the squad due to Lively, who hung out with Swift before that post, why would she have bothered?

And this isn’t the first time the outlet has tried to put Swift and Gomez in feuds with other women. Last year, Gossip Cop busted the magazine when it falsely claimed the pair were teaming up with Demi Lovato to “take down” Miley Cyrus. We also corrected the tabloid back in June when it wrongly alleged Gomez was fighting with Hailey Baldwin over Bieber. Memo to Life & Style: Successful women really can get along.
